BREMERTON -- Bremerton Police are investigating the possible homicide of an 87 year-old Bremerton man. Police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Lebo Boulevard in East Bremerton on Saturday afternoon, police said in a news release.

A neighbor had reportedly found the 87 year-old resident, who lived along, on the floor of the townhouse. Police determined that the man was dead and there was evidence of foul play and violence, police reported.

Officers from Bremerton Police, Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island and Washington State Patrol detectives are on scene and conducting an investigation.

"It is important for the neighborhood to know that our preliminary information indicates that this is likely not a random event," said Bremerton Police Chief Steve Strachan.
