SEATTLE – There’s a new airline in town.

Spirit Airlines announced Thursday that they’ll be adding service to Sea-Tac airport beginning in March.  The discount airline will run two routes a day to L.A. and two more to Las Vegas, though the Vegas run won’t begin until April 14.

There will also connections available to 15 more cities.

Spirit is known for its “frill control,” which offers low base rates but charges for many things travelers are accustomed to getting for free, such as carry-on bags and assigned seats.

Earlier this year, Spirit was added to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, where it ranked dead last in customer satisfaction among the airlines.

“It is a testament to the strengths of the Seattle market that a successful airline like Spirit made its decision to enter into Seattle and bring new ways of travel for our travelers,” Port of Seattle CEO Ted Fick said in a press release.
