60-year-old North Bend man dies after being stung multiple times by hornets

CLE ELUM, Wash. -- Warren Brown, 60, of North Bend, collapsed and died after being stung multiple times by hornets, the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office said.

Brown collapsed while cutting campfire wood off U.S. Forest Service Road 3350 about 8 miles south of Cle Elum, the sheriff's office said.

Members of the camp site told deputies that Brown was stung multiple times when he disturbed a hornet's nest while cutting firewood. Friends and medical staff from Fire District 7 performed life-saving efforts on him, but those were unsuccessful.
