Man found shot, killed in South Seattle; police investigating

SEATTLE -- Detectives are investigating after a man was found dead of a single gunshot wound late Sunday night in South Seattle.

Witnesses called 911 around 11:30 p.m. to report a man in his 20's appeared to be hurt near the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Garden Street, police said. When medics arrived at the intersection, they found the man unconscious.

Medics couldn't revive the man, and he was declared dead of a single gunshot wound at the scene.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
