One dead, another injured in Tacoma shooting

TACOMA — Tacoma police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured inside a parked car.

According to a police spokesperson, this appeared to be an attempted homicide, followed by a suicide.

Officers were called around 3:30 a.m. Sunday after shots were fired near South 72nd Street near Interstate 5. Police found a car with two people inside. Both had been shot.

Medics transported the attempted homicide victim to a nearby hospital. The person with the gun was also taken to the hospital, but died about an hour later.
