Snohomish County deputies need help finding driver who ran over Everett woman

SEATTLE -- A 65-year-old Everett woman is in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center after a driver ran her over and then fled the scene.

The crash happened last Saturday near 4th Avenue West and 128th Street SW in south Everett.

“It is breaking my heart,” said Amy Carter, daughter of the injured pedestrian. “She’s already having a hard time in her life. Her husband died 2 years ago unexpectedly.”

Carter’s mom, Valarie Delbridge, has multiple bone fractures and severe head trauma.

“She’s having surgery today. They’re really concerned about the injury on her head,” she said.

Police said they haven’t found anyone who witnessed the crash but they believe the suspect drove a dark colored passenger car.

“It should have significant front-end damage,” said Shari Ireton, of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. “So, anybody who came home late Saturday night, early Sunday morning, maybe a neighbor, maybe an auto repair shop fixed something like this. Somebody trying to hide front-end damage to the car, that’s what we’re really looking for.”

“This car basically ran her over, she flew off to the curb and they turned their lights off so this person knew what they did so no one could get their information,” said Carter.

Valarie will survive her injuries but Carter said she has a long way to full recovery.

“At least she knows her last name, she can say a little words but she’s in and out,” she said. “It’s really sad.”

Carter said her mother is also overwhelmed with medical bills and is asking for help through this gofundme page.
