Man arrested for allegedly making, passing counterfeit $20 bills from Lakewood to Suquamish

BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — Bremerton police have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with passing counterfeit money throughout Western Washington.

Bremerton police said in a news release Friday they arrested Kyle P.M. Vickery following an extensive investigation into 61 cases involving counterfeit bills.

They say they found a copy machine, paper and examples of counterfeit $20 bills inside Vickery's motel room, along with narcotics.

Detectives believe more than $2,000 has been circulated in Bremerton with bills passed as far north as Suquamish and as far south as Lakewood.

Police say Vickery and others made bills on the copier, ironed them to create a worn appearance and responded to Craigslist ads, buying items with the counterfeit money.

Vickery is in the Kitsap County Jail on $50,000 bail.
