LACEY, Wash. — An 83-year-old man under hospice care and his 79-year-old wife were found shot to death Friday in an apparent homicide-suicide east of Lacey.

Thurston County sheriff’s Lt. Cliff Ziesemer said the woman shot her husband with a shotgun in the bathroom of their mobile home in the 500 block of Duterrow Road SE before turning the gun on herself.

A family member discovered the couple in the home at about 11 a.m. Friday.

Ziesemer said family members had no indication that the couple had been planning the shooting.

Authorities are investigating.

The husband and wife have not been identified.
