KENT — Police are investigating a single-car crash that left the driver dead and a passenger critically injured Wednesday morning in Kent.

According to the Kent Police Department, a car was spotted down a ravine near the intersection of 124th Avenue SE and Kent Kangley Road. Emergency workers called to the scene took a passenger to a nearby hospital. The passenger was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not immediately release the cause of the crash.
