Resident fights back against 4 intruders, shooting and killing 1

GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) — A late night attack in Gresham left one man dead and three others wounded.

Gresham police say they were called to the Rolling Hills Mobile Terrace and R.V. Park at 10:15 p.m. Saturday by neighbors who reported hearing gunshots.

Police say four men entered a mobile home and attacked a 34-year-old male resident, stabbing him with a knife.

The resident fought back and grabbed a pistol. He shot two of the suspects. One of the men, a 25-year-old Hispanic man from Gresham, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A third suspect was stabbed during the incident and the fourth was uninjured.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening knife wounds and has since been released.

Detectives with the East County Major Crimes Team are investigating. They told KPTV they believe the suspects specifically targeted the victim.

No further details were released.
