Suspect in dozens of Pasco fence, garage fires arrested

PASCO, Wash. (AP) — A Pasco man is facing charges in connection to dozens of suspicious fires that have been set across the city this summer.

The Tri-City Herald reports that the man was arrested Wednesday after yet another suspicious fire. Witnesses spotted a man matching the suspect's description leaving the scene. A pile of leaves had been set on fire and quickly put out.

The man was booked into the Franklin County jail on investigation of arson and reckless burning. Police say he is the prime suspect in other fires set in alleys around the city.

Officials say there have been at least 55 fires over the summer. They have burned fences, garages, vehicles, grass, a sofa, a mother-in-law house and other structure.
