Suspect arrested in killing of woman, 2-year-old

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspect in the shooting deaths of a woman and a 2-year-old boy Thursday.

Heather Kelso and her roommate’s 2-year-old son, Kaden Lum, were shot and killed at the Kariotis Mobile Home Park in East Bremerton in March. The shooting deaths did not appear to be random, but little information was known after immediately after the act.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in the double homicide at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. He was booked into the Kitsap County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault. His bail was set at $2 million.

The suspect is scheduled to make his first appearance in Kitsap County Superior Court at 9:00 am on Monday, August 24.
