Police: Repeated buttocks slapper struck women on walking trails

LACEY – Police are looking for a young man responsible for slapping at least two women on the buttocks while they walked popular trails.

At 6:38 p.m. Friday, two women walking the Chehalis Western Trail in Lacey were approached by an unknown man on a bike from behind, Lacey police said. The young man slapped one of the women “extremely hard” on her buttocks, police said, propelling her forward. The suspect then rode off.

Police said this is the second such incident in the area, as a woman recently reported a similar assault on the Woodland Trail in Olympia.

The suspect is described as a white man and about 17 to 25 years old. He wore a black hat with his brim upward, a black lightweight jacket and baggy black pants.

Police encourage anyone with information on the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
