Prolific motorcycle crooks caught on camera identified as Kevin Vaughn, Joseph Campbell; victim's stolen bike recovered
CAPTURE UPDATE October 15, 2015 -- Lynnwood Police Special Operations Section and K-9 teams arrested Kevin Vaughn in Everett on Thursday. Vaughn is charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Theft of Motor Vehicle and Taking Motor Vehicle Without Permission in the Second Degree. UPDATE September 8, 2015 -- The Lynnwood Police Special Operations Section recovered Jason Bush’s motorcycle and arrested Glen Osborne. Osborne is a friend of Kevin Vaughn who is still wanted. The bike has some minor damage and new Rock Star decals that weren't on it before but is ok overall!
FUGITIVES UPDATE September 3, 2015 -- Seattle Police say the suspects have been identified as convicted felon Kevin Vaughn (hat) and Joseph Campbell (white shirt). FUGITIVES WANTED IN SEATTLE August 5, 2015 -- A recent uptick in motorcycle thefts in the north Seattle area has police warning people to chain up their high-end bikes. Jason Bush woke up Tuesday morning to a shock. "My 2005 GSX R 1000 was stolen," said Bush. Thieves busted his ignition lock. "I spent a couple of years saving up to purchase it, took me while to find it and now it's gone," he said. Bush is just the latest victim. Detectives in the Auto Theft Unit say thieves were seen on surveillance video stealing two other motorcycles. On July 29, three men broke into a secured parking garage on Northgate Way. They were driving a stolen Honda Accord that they later stripped and dumped in SeaTac.
The main suspect was very thin, had a shaved head, goatee and tattoos down the inside of each forearm. The second suspect was wearing a red plaid shirt and a Mariners hat. The third suspect driving the car was black. They stole a black 2004 Honda CBR 100. "These guys are prolific motorcycle thieves and they took this with no problem whatsoever," said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound who is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest. On July 31, cameras at a residential garage on 24th Avenue NE got still images of two suspects stealing a white Honda CBR600. One of the suspects had a tattoo wrapped around his right bicep. The other was heavy-set and black. Bush has started a Go Fund Me page to ask people to keep an eye out for his motorcycle and to raise money to replace it if it's not found.
