Seattle community on edge after man gunned down on street



SEATTLE -- Police said a man was shot and killed Friday in the city's New Holly neighborhood.

Witnesses began calling 911 just after 3 p.m. Friday saying that a man was shot at the intersection of 44 Avenue S. and S. Cloverdale Street, police said.

Officers found a man on the sidewalk who had been shot multiple times, police said. Medics attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene, police said.



Homicide detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Gang Unit were canvassing the area for witnesses.  Officers have increased patrols in the area, too.
