LB Wagner sends cryptic tweet following Wilson's extension news; other Hawks congratulate QB

SEATTLE -- Everyone was overjoyed Friday when news broke that quarterback Russell Wilson signed an extension with the Seahawks.

Well, most everyone, at least.

Seahawks Linebacker Bobby Wagner sent out a cryptic tweet following the news of Russell's deal, apparently upset that Wilson's contract extension could mean no extension for himself.

Wagner, who is in the last year of his rookie contract, was reportedly working to sign a longterm deal with the Hawks before the Wilson news broke. The Seahawks’ second-round pick in the 2012 NFL draft out of Utah State, Wagner is scheduled to earn just under $1 million this season.

Despite missing five games due to injury in 2014, Wagner was named to the first team All-Pro. He also received one NFL Most Valuable Player vote from former NFL coach Tony Dungy.

The Seahawks could still use a franchise tag on Wagner in the offseason, ProFootballTalk.com reports.

Other players seemed excited about the news that their young, star quarterback would stay with the team for another four years. Kam Chancellor, who is reportedly holding out from training camp in an effort to secure a new contract, congratulated his teammate.
