Police: Bellevue man confesses to 11 burglaries after DNA evidence leads to his arrest

BELLEVUE -- A 23-year-old Bellueve man was arrested Thursday on burglary charges after DNA evidence led to his identification, police said.

The Bellevue Police Department said that officers found three dried blood droplets on a burglary victim's floor on April 13 and that lab analysis of the DNA led to the suspect.

Detectives learned that the suspect had recently been released from prison after serving time for committing burglaries in Bellevue in 2013.

Police analysts identified at least 15 crimes, including seven burglaries, that were  committed in a two-month period within a one-mile radius of the address where the suspect had been staying. The burglary reported on April 13 had been one of those burglaries.

On Thursday, detectives found and arrested the suspect in the Newport Hills neighborhood of Bellevue. The suspect later confessed to 11 burglaries, including the one on April 13.
