Truck with oversize load hits I-5 bridge near Ferndale; span inspected
FERNDALE, Wash. -- A truck carrying an oversize load struck the Interstate 5 Nooksack River Bridge near Ferndale Wednesday night, partially blocking the highway for a time, the Washington State Patrol said.
State Patrol trooper Mark Francis said the bridge was being inspected for damage.
In June 2013, a truck struck the Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River, causing part of the span to collapse and sending cars into the river below.
