Two dead after drive-by shooting on I-5

MOUNT VERNON -- Two people were found dead in their car after an apparent drive-by shooting in Skagit County on Saturday morning.

Washington State Patrol confirms two victims suffered fatal gunshot wounds in their car, near Interstate 5's College Way exit, shortly before 4 a.m.

They have been identified as 21-year-old Miguel Lopez who was driving the vehicle and his 20-year-old front seat passenger Leonardo Salinas-Lopez.

A third passenger in the vehicle was able to escape.

At this time there are no suspect descriptions, and northbound traffic continues to be diverted off of the interstate as the investigation continues.
