Firefighters face insane obstacles in combat challenge (VIDEO)

BELLEVUE, Wash --Firefighters from across the country were putting their physical fitness on the line this past weekend in Bellevue.

Firefighters from as far away as Florida competed in one of the world's most physically demanding obstacle courses the "Scott safety firefighter combat challenge."

Participants did everything from dragging bodies, to running up stairs all in a back-breaking amount of gear.

“It's not that any of this stuff is beyond the realm of reasonable expectation,” said organizer Dr. Paul Davis Scott. “What makes it a game is to do it some inane amount of time and that's the challenge.”

The world championships will be in Alabama in October
