3 teens killed, 3 others hurt in head-on crash in Lewis County



ONALASKA, Wash. --€” Three teens were killed and three others injured when a minivan collided head-on with an SUV in Lewis County.

Around 10 p.m. Monday, the Land Rover SUV was heading east on Highway 508 with four 18-year-old men and four 13-year-old girls inside when it collided with a Ford minivan approaching from the opposite direction.

The Washington State Patrol says both vehicles crossed the center line.

The 18-year-old driver of the Land Rover and a 13-year-old female passenger were found dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old man who suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A hospital spokesperson says he died Tuesday afternoon.

The 36-year-old driver of the minivan wasn't hurt. Troopers say only two out of eight people were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper Will Finn says one person is under arrest.

Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

They are still working to determine who was at fault.
