Violent street robber: Help Seattle police identify suspect seen on video attacking, robbing elderly woman

WANTED IN SEATTLE -- A robbery suspect definitely isn't winning any points with the man upstairs after he stole a woman's necklace with a pendant of the Baby Jesus on one side and the Blessed Virgin Mary on the other. Take a look at the surveillance video that shows the suspect running behind her at the King Plaza in Seattle and ripping the jewelry right off her neck. This was at 2:45 in the afternoon on Monday, June 29th at S. Othello St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The suspect ran southbound towards the Safeway store.

"You can see he's carefully measuring his steps and just at the right second he reaches up, grabs around her throat and rips two gold chains off of her,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “We're fortunate that it didn't knock her down. I mean we could have had a serious injury, but this guy really, picking on people over two gold chains really makes me mad.” Detectives say the suspect is in his early to mid-20's, about 5'05" with a stocky build and you can see he was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
