Police investigating ‘suspicious death’ after body found in van

RENTON, Wash. — Police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found Monday in a car parked on the shoulder of a Renton road.


A Renton parking enforcement officer was investigating a report of an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder of Victoria Avenue Southwest near Renton Avenue when they noticed an unusual odor coming from the vehicle.

Police officers were called to the scene, and they discovered a body inside the van. Preliminary evidence shows the death may not have been natural, police said.

The King County medical examiner’s office will attempt to determine the cause of death and identify the body.
