SEATTLE — A large brush fire backed up traffic on northbound Interstate 5 near Boeing Field Monday morning, the Washington State Department of Transportation said.

WSDOT tweeted about the brush fire around 6:40 a.m. Monday. Pictures of the fire were dramatic.

The two right lanes of traffic were blocked just south of Albro at 6:45 p.m. Officials encouraged using State Route 99 or alternative routes. However, the fire was put out in under an hour, and traffic seemed to return to normal.
