23-year-old Vancouver man dies following Paradiso hospitalization

GEORGE, Wash. -- A second person has died as a result of the high temperatures, large crowds and alleged easy availability of drugs at the Gorge Amphitheater's Paradiso Music Festival, officials said.

Vivek Pandher, 23, of British Columbia was pronounced dead on Saturday, July 4. The exact cause of his death was not immediately released.

Pandher was one of "dozens" of concert goers who were sent to emergency rooms at Quincy Valley Medical Center near the popular Electronic Dance Music festival held in the last week of June, the Gorge Amphitheater News Network reported. Pandher was later sent to Vancouver General Hospital, where he died.

A 22-year-old Portland man who collapsed at the festival died on June 27.

According to the Tribune of India, Pandher was a well known artist in Vancouver.

Some 27,500 people attended the sold-out dance music event. The sheriff’s office said 10 people were arrested during the festival, less than half as many as last year.
