GEORGE, Wash. — A second person has died as a result of the high temperatures, large crowds and alleged easy availability of drugs at the Gorge Amphitheater’s Paradiso Music Festival, officials said.

Vivek Pandher, 23, of British Columbia was pronounced dead on Saturday, July 4. The exact cause of his death was not immediately released.

Pandher was one of “dozens” of concert goers who were sent to emergency rooms at Quincy Valley Medical Center near the popular Electronic Dance Music festival held in the last week of June, the Gorge Amphitheater News Network reported. Pandher was later sent to Vancouver General Hospital, where he died.

A 22-year-old Portland man who collapsed at the festival died on June 27.

According to the Tribune of India, Pandher was a well known artist in Vancouver.

Some 27,500 people attended the sold-out dance music event. The sheriff’s office said 10 people were arrested during the festival, less than half as many as last year.

So….when you decide to put in the FIRST sentence of your article “alleged easy availability of drugs,” what agenda are you really trying to push here? This is human life to be concerned about; there was record-high heat, a moderate lack of water availability (unless you were willing to wait 20 minutes at times at the water stations), and a blend of informed patrons along with those who still felt invincible despite a very harsh climate. Are you just using this guy’s death as a platform for yet another “drugs are bad” discussion? Especially when the medical details haven’t even been released, you as a news station should be ashamed of yourself to stoop to such conjecture. Remind me to find out every organization that pipes money back into your system and not support them, either.
