Major fire damages Queen Anne condo building; no injuries (PHOTOS)

SEATTLE -- Seattle firefighters battled a huge two-alarm fire at a three-story condo building in the densely populated Queen Anne neighborhood Thursday. Smoke was visible for miles across the city.

Fire Department officials said there were no injuries. The condo building had eight units and everyone and their pets got out safely, a spokeswoman said.

The building is at 160 Lee Street.

Multiple fire trucks rushed to the scene, pouring water on the burning building and protecting nearby structures. Several neighboring fire districts assisted because many of Seattle Fire crews were dispatched to another 2-alarm fire in South Seattle on Rainier Avenue South.

The Fire Department said fire damage was believed to be contained to one unit, although other units probably sustained water and smoke damage.

On Friday, investigators said the fire was accidental, with an estimated $3 million in damage.

Zillow.com says the building was built in 1988 and that the condos range in price from $276,000 to $408,000.
