Mystery behind Amazon's 'Treasure Truck' spotted around Seattle revealed

SEATTLE -- Have you spotted the mysterious "Treasure Truck" driving around Seattle this week?

Well, its mystery has finally been revealed.

Amazon's "Treasure Truck" has toured around Seattle since Monday as a run up to this weekend. Starting Saturday, the truck will offer "highly-desirable, limited-quantity products" and food several days per week, the company said.

The truck is in an effort to increase Amazon's physical presence in the community. Items from the trucks will only be available for one day and exclusively through the use of Amazon's Mobile Shopping app. Customers interested in purchasing items featured in the truck can choose a time-slot, buy the item, and pick up the goods up at a pre-determined location.

The truck will offer heavy discounts on items that can't be found elsewhere, the company said. On Saturday, the Treasure Truck will offer an inflatable paddleboard for $99, 79-percent of the regular price.

Right now, the Treasure Truck is limited to Seattle, but may come to other cities.
