CAMANO ISLAND, Wash. (AP) — The Island County Sheriff’s Office says two kayakers found the body of a diver floating in water off Camano Island and towed the man’s body to shore where they called 911.

The Seattle Times reports that investigators were called to the scene at about 6 p.m. Saturday.

Detective Ed Wallace says the man’s body was found in Elger Bay, just south of Camano Island State Park.

He was wearing full dive gear but it’s not known yet whether his death was diving-related.

Wallace says it didn’t appear the diver had been in the water for long.

His identity was not immediately released.
