Mom yells during custody trial that she killed 2 of her kids found in freezer

DETROIT (AP) — A Detroit mother accused of slaying two of her children and storing their bodies in a freezer yelled during separate court outbursts that she killed them.

Mitchelle Blair's outbursts came Thursday during a parental rights trial for her surviving 8-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter.

The bodies of 13-year-old Stoni Blair and 9-year-old Stephen Berry were found in the family's deep freezer in March. Police believe they died in 2012 and 2013.

Mitchelle Blair is charged with murder, torture and child abuse.

A videotape played in court showed her surviving son telling a social worker that he saw his brother killed. Blair yelled he didn't see it because Stephen's death was "unintentional."

She later said "everybody wants to know. Yes, I did kill her" regarding Stoni's death.

Testimony resumes Friday.
