Netflix confirms ads are NOT coming to the streaming service anytime soon

Don't worry, Netflix users.

The streaming service says it does not plan on adding video advertisements anytime soon.

A Netflix spokesperson confirmed the good news after a report on Monday that the company was experimenting with video advertisements before and after programs.

The spokesperson told a New York Times reporter "We have zero intention of putting ads on our platform; no change at all in policy."

Vice claimed that Netflix was considering ads to promote some of its original content like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.

In a statement to Mashable, Netflix said:

"We are not planning to test or implement third-party advertising on the Netflix service. For some time, we've teased Netflix originals with short trailers after a member finishes watching a show. Some members in a limited test now are seeing teases before a show begins. We test hundreds of potential improvements to the service every year. Many never extend beyond that."

As you can imagine, people expressed their frustration about the possibility of ads coming to the currently ad-free service on social media.

Fortunately, there won't be any ads.
