SEABECK, Wash. -- Authorities are investigating a possible case of animal cruelty after finding a dog tied up to a tree and shot once in the head off of a remote trail near the town of Seabeck in Kitsap County.
Animal lover and dog owner, Gary Harrington, couldn't believe someone would do something that horrible to a pet.
"I think they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law because that’s just wrong," Harrington said.
Animal Control Officers have never seen anything like this in Kitsap County before.
Officer Chase Connolly said, "It raises our concern because of how the animal was found."
Connolly said it appeared the dog was well cared for and loved. The dog didn't appear to have anything else wrong with it and looked to be someone's pet.
The Kitsap County Humane Society is hoping someone will contact them with any information about the incident. The dog was found Monday.
