VIDEO: Thousands compete at Special Olympics Summer Games at JBLM



JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD -- 2,800 Special Olympics Athletes from Washington state competed in the 2015 Summer Games on Joint Base Lewis-McChord this the weekend.

Nearly 300 officers from around our state escorted the Flame of Hope as the parade of athletes arrived to kick off the weekend-long event on Friday night, in Opening Ceremonies featuring our very own Matt Lorch as emcee!

Events included Track and Field, Soccer, Cycling and Powerlifting.
