SEATTLE – A bicyclist was arrested early Sunday after he collided with a man at a Capitol Hill intersection, then allegedly stabbed him during a fight afterward.
Police and medics were called to the intersection of Broadway and Pine just before 2 a.m. Seattle Police spokesperson Det. Patrick Michaud foot officers showed up quickly and found a man with stab wounds to his abdomen. They also found a second man holding a folding knife, and quickly took him into custody.
The injured man was treated at the scene, then taken to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment. He is in serious condition, though Michaud said the victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
Michaud said witnesses told officers that the victim was crossing against the intersection signal when the bicyclist collided with him. The two men then started to fight, and during that fight is when witnesses say the victim was stabbed.
The 40-year-old bicyclist was also taken to Harborview for an ankle injury. After his release, he was booked into the King County Jail for assault.
