Officers recover firearms, find stolen Seattle police badge during search for man with warrant

ARLINGTON, Wash. -- Police in Arlington arrested a man on a parole violation warrant and recovered stolen property Wednesday, including police-issued equipment.

According to Arlington police, officers were helping the Washington State Department of Corrections locate the 29-year-old wanted man Wednesday in the 8500 block of 212th Street NE.

Officers said instead they found a 50-year-old man hiding in the closet under a pile of clothing. He had a felony warrant for parole violation and was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

During the search, officers found a Seattle Police Department badge, a tactical belt with a holster, and a bulletproof vest. They also found two handguns and an assault rifle.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed against the man who was hiding in the closet. The 29-year-old suspect was not at the residence.

Police said they would release more information as it becomes available.
