Caught on camera: Burglar breaks into Kent home, victims looking for justice

Kent, Wash. — A Kent couple living in West Hill catches a burglar on camera and they hope the thief is brought to justice.

Around 10:50am on Friday, a man is seen by security cameras getting dropped off in front of the victims home by a silver 4-sedan with tinted windows.  The suspect checks out the home for a few minutes and then grabs a rock and throws it through a bedroom window.  The burglar climbs through the window and begins to rummage through drawers and under beds. Luckily a neighbor heard the glass shatter and watched as the man got into her neighbors home.

“I see a guy..like his shoes going through the window.  I’m thinking ok..maybe somebody forgot their keys,” Neighbor Catherine Sutton said.

Catherine ran next door and knocked and no one answered, so she called police who arrived a few minutes later.  Unfortunately, the thief ran off through a back door and got away.  However, because of Catherine’s quick actions, the thief only spent less than five minutes inside the house before running off.  The homeowners say he did make a mess but the only thing missing is a wallet that no one uses.

Luckily, the homeowners have several security cameras set up around the house and were able to get clear video of the suspect at work.  They’ve filed a report with Kent Police.

He’s as good as caught… King County jail staff are making a cell available for this guy after booking. Being in King County jail is no fun at all, especially for an old wallet that nobody uses. LOL!

Sorry you have a mess but I love it that he only got a worthless wallet! He looks like the usual POS you see wandering all over King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. They contribute nothing to society and damage those who are just trying to work and live.

Well, unfortunately, this isn’t all that lucky because the justice system won’t do a thing. It probably won’t even bother looking for him and if it catches him it won’t give him more than a slap on the wrist. I would support any change to the laws that would give a POS like this 5 solid years behind bars each time it’s convicted of burglary.

As I perfect my home security system, I’d like to know more detail on how these POSes actually break in. For instance, did he break the glass and then slide the window open? Or did he just climb through the broken pane?
