UPDATE: Endangered mom, daughter found safe

UPDATE:  Bellevue police said Sunday the missing mother and daughter had been found safe.

BELLEVUE -- Police said Friday night they would like the public's help in locating an endangered mother and her daughter who were last seen Sunday, May 10.

The mother has substance abuse issues and a criminal history and, because of that behavior, they could be endangered, a police spokesman said.

The girl was supposed to be returned to her grandparents, who have legal custody of her on Monday, but that didn't happen, the spokesman said.

Police ask that if you see them, call 911 or the Bellevue Police Department.

Police said this is not going to become an Amber Alert because the mother doesn't harm her daughter. Authorities simply believe the mother's lifestyle is dangerous, the spokesman said.

Editor's note: The names and photos of the missing mother and daughter have been removed from the article since they were found safe.
