3-year-old girl found safe; police still searching for suspect

UPDATE:  Police said the child was found safe around 7:00 p.m. near Cottage Grove, Oregon along with the suspect vehicle. Officers are still searching for the child’s mother Kaitlyne Wirth. If you see her, you are asked to call police.


TILLAMOOK, Ore. — Oregon State Police are searching for a 3-year-old girl taken by her non-custodial mother.

Police say Kaitlyne Wirth, 19, took her daughter, and the girl be in danger.

Authorities say the child’s mother does not have custody and is not capable of caring for the child.

Kaitlyne is described as 5′ 5″ and 150 pounds with blonde hair.

She and her daughter may be traveling in a 1999 Chevy Cavalier, 4-door, with Oregon plate 086GPE.

Their last known location was North Bend, Oregon.

If you see them, call 9-1-1 immediately.
