35-year-old Seattle man charged with rape, burglaries near UW campus



SEATTLE (AP) — Prosecutors on Tuesday charged a 35-year-old Seattle man with one count of rape and three counts of burglary with sexual motivation as police investigate assaults in large rooming houses near the University of Washington campus.

The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/aHYBrP ) that Onelio Abun Cardona-Hernandez is accused of rape and burglary with sexual motivation in a Dec. 11 sexual assault.

He's also charged with burglary with sexual motivation at the same house on Jan. 9, involving a second woman.

A third charge of burglary with sexual motivation involves a Jan. 17 attack on a third woman at a different rooming house.

Cardona-Hernandez, who was arrested Friday night, was ordered held on $1 million bail.

His arraignment is scheduled for May 21.
