HAWAII -- We all need a vacation every now and then.

But clearly a tropical paradise is not for everyone, including this grandmother.

Now, her grandchildren have made her an Internet celebrity by sharing her story, which quickly rocketed to the top spot on Reddit.

Reddit user ratedhero posted this photo of grandma with the caption, "We took Grandma to Hawaii for the first time."

Clearly, she is not impressed.

Commenters on Reddit wanted to know more. Did grandma enjoy her getaway?

Her granddaughter replied:

"That's questionable. Later in the trip we drove to an amazing spot with a waterfall. The waterfall was down a short, fairly level path in the jungle. My dad asked, "Don't you want to walk down and see it up close?" She and my aunt said "No, we can see it fine from the car." Pic from that exact moment:

Now, the Internet is abuzz talking about grandma! (Read more here)

I have never really had a desire to go to Hawaii, when I go on vacation I want to relax and being in a place where there are so many people that you are basically piled on top of eachother in not relaxing.

Maybe you shouldnt judge a place if you haven’t even been there? I’m about as anti social as they come, I can’t stand being around people… but my Maui vacation was heavenly and I didn’t want to come home. There are tons of places on the islands people can go that are not full of tourists, just stay away from the tourist spots. ;)

That’s why I only wanted to stop in Oahu to see the Pearl Harbor museum, but wouldn’t want to stay there for my vacation. I stayed in Maui, and while still “touristy”, it’s far less crowded and easier to find secluded, beautiful beaches and even the tropical mountains on the road to Hana and out on the other side of the island. Only right in the middle where all the resorts are does it get crowded.

I love it when people who have never been somewhere make ignorant comments about why they don’t like it.
      Aloha, Bruddah !!

I wonder if grandma told them repeatedly that she didn’t want to go to Hawaii. I wonder if they ignored her and made her go anyway. That would make me cranky.
