LOS ANGELES — Yes, the price was right — but the prize was wrong.

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Price is Right,” a wheelchair-bound contestant won a treadmill.

Danielle was playing the “1RightPrice” game when Drew Carey asked the show’s announcer to reveal the prizes, a sauna and a treadmill. She correctly guessed the price of the $3,695 sauna, meaning she also won the $2,400 treadmill.

Viewers took to Twitter to express confusion over the unfortunate prize given to Danielle. To her credit, she appeared to be genuinely thrilled with her win. She also tweeted about her big moment:

CBS did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

I don’t get it! Why is this even an issue. Why is there even an article written about this. Just because this lady is in a wheelchair does not mean that her entire family and friends are in chairs also! So she won a treadmill. She also won a sauna. She can use the sauna but she can give the treadmill to a family member or friend. This world is so me-first, so selfish. There’s something called giving. Just because you receive something, does not mean that you should hoard it. You can give too. You can pay it forward!

I couldn’t agree more! What the hell is everyone making a big deal out of this! I hope tomorrow they get a blind man and he wins a friggan car!

It’s not like they set the games/prizes up by the contestants. They had no way of knowing a wheelchair bound person would be the one playing for these prizes. I guess that just shows all the naysayers that the game isn’t rigged at all. They couldn’t very well rearrange the prizes once she won and was up on stage. Everything now days is just nit picked to death. There are some reasons in this electronic day and age that these things are terrible for our lives. This is one of them.

OMG someone call the athourities! an American TV show treated a person in a wheelchair like any other contestant an offered a prize that if she wasn’t interested in keep could sell or give it to someone they know would be interested in said prize! I say they should lock them up and throw away the key! seriously ppl that show has been on for years you think everyone on that show won something they would actually keep Gilmore Girls had an episode do a bit on that the weird French guy won an RV.

The prizes are not picked for each contestant! They are picked well in advance, and it was just her (bad) luck to have been the winner for this prize! They aren’t going to change the prizes just because a contestant has a disability! Plus, at the end, she doesn’t have to accept the prize. You can accept what you want, like or need, and refuse the rest! It also saves on how much tax you have to pay for the winnings!
