Deputies search for man accused of trying to kidnap teenage boy in Graham

GRAHAM, Wash. -- A 14-year-old boy says he was walking home when a man pulled up next to him and tried to lure him into the car using alcohol.

According to Pierce County deputies, the teen was walking along 200th Street near 110th Ave Court East around 7:30 pm on Friday, May 1st. That's when a stranger reportedly pulled up next to him and started asking the boy questions.

"The guy said, 'how about some of this?' And offered him some alcohol in a flask or something,"said mother Aimee Booth.

Her son recognized the dangerous situation and ran away unharmed. He told his mother the man tried to give him alcohol.

"I hit the roof and of course immediately called police," she said.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is now looking for a man described as a white male in his early 20s, with a thin build and curly red hair, wearing sunglasses, and a backwards hat. He was last seen driving a red 4-door sedan.

The Bethel School district sent out an email to every parent in the district saying, "Please take a moment to review with your children the importance of good safe walking practices and encourage them not to talk with strangers or approach cars they don’t know. If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Pierce County Sheriff's Office."
