2nd King County Jail inmate dies in three days

SEATTLE (AP) — King County corrections officials say a 31-year-old inmate at the county jail in downtown Seattle died after having an apparent seizure.

Capt. Troy Bacon said Tuesday that jail and medical staff tried to help the inmate late Monday afternoon. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.

The Seattle man was not immediately identified. He was booked into jail Sunday after being arrested for investigation of theft and violating the terms of his state Department of Corrections supervision.

The King County medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.

A 27-year-old King County jail inmate was found dead in his single-person cell last Friday night at the Regional Justice Center in Kent. The Burien man was booked into jail April 28 after he was arrested on a court-ordered warrant.

His cause of death is under investigation.
