Crews battle 2-alarm fire at Spanaway business (PHOTOS)

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire Monday afternoon at a business in Spanaway.

Dark black smoke could be seen for miles. Crews were called to the report of fire at a commercial building near 191st and Pacific Avenue around 1:30 p.m.

The fire was knocked down about an hour later, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Crews said they would be monitoring for hot spots, and they were using hand crews to mop up spot fires around the yard.
