Bomb squad called to Lynnwood apartment complex after 'possible explosive device' reported

LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- The WSP bomb squad is responded to the report of a "possible explosive device" Monday at a Lynnwood apartment complex.

According to Lynnwood police, the fire department was at the complex in the 5200 block of 168th Street SW performing an inspection around 11:30 a.m. when they were notified by a complex employee that there was a suspicious device left by a former tenant.

Officials said the device was located in a garage and appeared to be dangerous. The 30-unit apartment complex evacuated as a precaution.

A nearby business was also evacuated and officials said Beverly Elementary was placed on modified lockdown.
