Tiger escapes enclosure at Oklahoma Zoo where local elephants are headed

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma --  A tiger reportedly escaped its enclosure Thursday at a zoo in Oklahoma City.

The zoo is supposed to be the future home of a pair of elephants who were former residents of the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.

KFOR-TV reported that the zoo in Oklahoma City issued a 'code red' alert across the zoo as officials moved in to recapture the tiger.

Witnesses tweeted video of trouble in the tiger enclosure.

KFOR-TV reported that the tiger was never in a public area where patrons might have been in danger.

The Woodland Park elephants have yet to arrive in Oklahoma City.  After leaving Seattle they were detoured to San Diego where they currently remain.
