Tiger Woods commits to play U.S. Open at Chambers Bay in June

SEATTLE -- Tiger Woods announced on his website Wednesday he has committed to five tournaments, including the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay.

Woods is No. 116 in the world and did not qualify for the Match Play Championship this week in San Francisco, the Associated Press said.  His next tournament is The Players Championship starting May 7.

Woods' website said Wednesday the golfer had committed to five tournaments.

"Woods will play in the 115th U.S. Open on June 18-21 at new site Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington," his website said. "Designed by Robert Trent Jones II, the links-style layout measures 7,585 yards and is located southwest of Tacoma on the Puget Sound shore.

"Tiger owns three U.S. Open titles, winning in 2000 by a record-breaking 15 strokes at Pebble Beach; in 2002 at Bethpage Black; and in 2008 at Torrey Pines."

Woods also committed to the Memorial, The Greenbrier Classic, the Open Championship and the Quicken Loans National.
