6.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off British Columbia coast



VANCOUVER, B.C. -- A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of British Columbia Friday morning, north of Vancouver Island.

The earthquake was located 187 KM West of Bella Bella, Canada, the USGS reported. The location is about 400 miles north of Victoria.

No tsunami warnings were immediately issued.
