WASHINGTON, D.C. — ESPN suspended reporter Britt McHenry on Thursday after a leaked video showed her berating a tow company worker.

McHenry’s car was apparently towed on April 5th while she was eating dinner in Arlington, Virginia. She later went to pick up her car at the towing company where the confrontation happened.

In the video posted on LiveLeak, the employee warns McHenry that she is being recorded. But McHenry looks straight into the camera and continues to insult her.

Editor’s note: This video contains some graphic language:

The reporter is heard saying things like:

“So I can be a college dropout and do the same thing?”

“Maybe if I was missing some teeth they would hire me, huh?”

“I’m in television and you’re in a f****** trailer, honey.”

“Lose some weight baby girl.”

McHenry wrote an apology Thursday afternoon on Twitter:

  • I hate rude dumba$$es

So you have a degree. Well, to me, you talk like a common, uneducated trash and act like one too. So probably, you’re uneducated piece of trash period!

I’m in awe at this someone in your position should not verbally abuse another human being because they do not have the same education and or job you should be a role model and carry yourself as such your under more scrutiny than most but from what I see you clearly feel entitled and above others shame on you grow up and act like an adult and not a child with your pathetic name calling shame on you miss

  • The Decider

That behavior is so unacceptable to direct toward anyone! Because she’s on the news she feels more entitled than others? They should fire her. And she deserves to have her teeth knocked out. What a cruel, awful person she is. We don’t need people with that kind of attitude in this world.

  • The Decider

I would also like to say hair in a bun and that style of The North Face pullover together screams evil. I have never once met a girl in that kind of outfit that wasn’t a raging you know what.

A great many of those people in the sports broadcasting field are the most liberal, snotty, racist, and venomous persons you will ever find. A smaller percentage are really good people. While I don’t condone the way she was acting, I do know personally how she feels about towing companies. She obviously parked in the wrong spot (so have I in the past), so it’s on us. But did you know if you’re car is stolen and found by the cops it’ll get towed and impounded? You’re the victim and get popped for $400 just to get your property back even if it has just been in their possession for a couple of hours. The fees they charge are outrageous, there’s no market competition, and if there is they collude together to keep the fees jacked up.
