NWS: Small tornado touches down in Oregon, flips over car

EUGENE, Ore. -- The National Weather Service says a small tornado touched down Tuesday afternoon in Lane County, Oregon.

There were no immediate reports of injuries. The tornado damaged several cars at Lane Community College in Eugene, according to reports.

The college said witnesses reported seeing a funnel cloud touch down on the southwest corner of the parking lot of campus around 4:10 p.m. It picked up two cars and moved them, flipping one over in a median.

"I had just enough time to tell my girlfriend to put her seat belt on and get mine on as well when the tornado picked the back end of my car up, threw us eight feet into the air and slammed us back onto the ground," witness Ryan Janececk told KEZI.
